P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science became a leader among educational institutions in the city in harnessing the power of Android operating system by launching an exclusive mobile application on Thursday.

Developed by Elite ProCon Solutions Private Limited (EPSPL), the app can be downloaded from Google Play Store by typing the college name.

Participating as the chief guest, Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education Secretary Paladugu Lakshman Rao said the college took to the Android platform to send information about its activities and academics to the students and faculty on a real-time basis and that it was a part of the streamlining of administration.

Taking part in the event as guest of honour, EPSPL Director C. Ratna Kumar said his company has developed mobile and software applications for a large number of clients since 1986. Its clients include Sri Durga Malleswara Swamyvarla Devasthanam in Vijayawada.

“Individuals and institutions cannot afford to stay aloof from the flow of information. Mobile applications are an excellent means to keeping in touch”, he said.

College Director V. Babu Rao and Principal M.V.N. Padma Rao were among those present.
