The very concept of partying does not have to necessarily mean putting on your glad rags and freaking out. There are other ways to celebrate even simple and small occasions in complete style. All you need to do is bring a variation to your approach.
For instance, if you are treating your buddies, your food selection does not have to be fancy to be appreciated. Often, the manner in which it is presented is also taken into count. Hotel Mid-City is doing exactly that by hosting a ‘Dosa Camp' – a unique food fare where it is raining dosas.
The crisp golden brown south Indian delicacy is being served in over 40 varieties, each with a different flavour. The best part of the fare is that you can chomp on the alluring rolls sitting in an open space on the premises of the hotel. The vacant space in the front portion of the hotel is being utilised to entice dosa-lovers to snack on their favourite delicacy.
Besides the regular varieties of plain, masala, onion and rava dosa, the exclusive varieties include veg manchurian dosa, chilli paneer dosa, Mysore masala dosa, open dosa, Mid-City special ragi uthapam, carrot dosa, curry leaves dosa, special chutney dosa, corn dosa and mushroom masala dosa.
“All varieties of dosas are served with the accompaniment of idly, vada and a soft drink. We started the trials a couple of weeks back but the formal launch of Dosa Camp has been done only today,” said the hotel General Manager L. Haricharan. The combination of a crisp golden brown dosa with chutneys of coconut, ginger and tomato is irresistible. The Dosa Camp is a permanent feature and the hotel intends to organise it on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. “The response is really good. People keep pouring in till 11pm and we don't ask them to return disappointed,” said an elated Haricharan.
