The Sports Authority of India will conduct district-wide selections for the National Sports Talent Contest (NSTC) day-boarder scheme at the V. P. Siddhartha Public School for 2016-17 on July 11 and 12 for athletics and gymnastics for boys and girls. For athletics, the age group is between eight and 14 and girls and for gymnastics it is between eight and 12 years.
In athletics, medal winners at the State and National-level competitions are automatically admitted into the scheme, subject to being found medically fit.
“Those who won medals at the district-level and participated at the State-level competitions will have to under a battery of tests,” says school principal L.S. Ram Babu.
The selected trainees will get expert training by qualified coaches throughout the year.
“In addition they will also get a monthly stipend of Rs. 300, sports kit and competition exposure funds for participating in competitions.” Interested sportspersons, should be present at the school premises at Mogalrajapuram at 8 a.m. on July 11.
