The 86 death anniversary of Duggirala Gopalakrishnayya, the first Telugu secretary of the All India Congress Committee, was observed in the city Congress office, the Andhra Ratna Bhavan, here on Tuesday. It is Gopalakrishnayya’s title “Andhra Ratna” that has been given to the historic Congress office in which Mahatma Gandhi addressed meetings.

City president Adapa Siva Nagendra Rao, vice-president Kombampati Pitcheswara Rao and general secretary A.K. Ansari paid floral tributes to the freedom fighter by garlanding his portrait.
