Leaders of three major political parties criticised the State government and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation for showing negligent attitude towards the development of one town here in a protest on Sunday.
TDP, CPI (M) and CPI party cadres participated in the padayatra-cum-protest that started from One Town Low Bridge near K. R. market and continued up to Panja centre.
Addressing the gathering TDP district president and Mylavarm MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao criticised the administration for not taking up development activities in the area. The drainage and road facilities here were in very poor conditional, that every person of the ruling party should feel shame on seeing the conditions here, he said.
The leaders also demanded immediate redress of the problems in the people of the area.
With the lack of proper road facilities, the commuters' plights are unimaginable, they said.
Nandigama MLA Tangirala Prabhakara Rao, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Nagul Meera and Buddha venklanna of TDP, R. Raghu and Donepudi Kashinath, of CPI (M)K. Subbaraju, and Shaik Nazara Vali of CPI were among the participant leaders.
