Governor of Rajasthan Prabha Rau has appealed to the community-based organisations to recognise talent of achievers in various facets of society. This, she said, would act as a motivating factor for the performers to excel.
Taking part in a function organised by Tirupati City Chamber here on Friday to present ‘Ugadi Puraskar' awards, she asked socio-charitable institutions to bring rural talent to light.
Ms. Prabha Rau later gave away ‘Lifetime achievement awards' to B. Navakumar, chairman of Pondicherry-based BNK industrial group and P. Hariprasad, director of BOTH Hospital, Tirupati, and ‘Ugadi Puraskars' to D.B. Sasidhar Reddy of Sri Ramadevi super specialty hospital, M.Revathi of Gandhiji institute of science and technology (Jaggaiahpet), Rajaram Agarwal, chairman of VM Marbles (Kishangunj, Rajasthan), P.Satyavani, a differently-abled MBA student from Vizag and C.Yasasvi Nandavareek of ZEE TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa fame.
Child prodigies G.K.S. Preetham (music and mimicry), G.Vyshnavi Sharma (Classical dance) and M.Mukesh (swimmer) were also honoured.
Chittoor MP N. Sivaprasad, SVVeterinary University Vice-Chancellor Md.Hafeez, chamber president Ayub Khan and others were also present.
