City-based Ramesh Hospitals has tied up with UAE-based Aster DM Healthcare to take tele-medicine and emergency healthcare to tier II and tier III cities of Andhra Pradesh.
Announcing the tie-up with the multinational health-care entity Astra, Ramesh Hospitals managing director L. Ramesh Babu said: “Our plan is to penetrate the rural pockets of the State where a lot of potential is seen in emergency care, especially after 5 p.m. where the medical expertise is inaccessible. Tele-medicine and tripling our capacity to 1,500 beds in the coming five years are among the focused areas.”
Besides, the tie up is also expected to develop centres of excellence in paediatric cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, nephrology and transplant programs for heart, liver and kidney in the State.
Currently Ramesh Hospitals chain consists of 560 bed capacity in three hospitals, of which two are located in Vijayawada and a latest one in Guntur with 350 beds. Aster, on the other hand consists of 11 multi-specialty hospitals in India and six hospitals, 84 clinics and 180 retail pharmacies in the Gulf Cooperative Council (GCC) states with global revenues of over Rs. 5,000 crore. Now the combined entity is also be planning some more hospitals across the State to meet the unmet demand in the rural and semi-rural areas.
