Rally taken out in support of anti-graft movement

August 28, 2011 02:16 pm | Updated 02:16 pm IST - GUNTUR:

Students of Vignan University took out a huge rally here on Saturday in support of the anti-corruption movement led by Anna Hazare. University Chancellor L. Ratthaiah and faculty participated in the event.

Mr. Ratthaiah said the government should respect the people's sentiment and bring about a strong Lokpal bill.

The Jan Lokpal bill presented by Anna Hazare and his team of anti-corruption crusaders reflected the aspirations of the people who have been enduring corruption for a long time to their own detriment. They could no longer remain mute spectators to the shameless exploitation of public money by corrupt elements, he said. Students raised slogans in support of Anna Hazare.
