Railway police seize ganja worth Rs.10 lakh

The Government Railway Police (GRP) seized huge haul of ganja being shifted illegally in train in the early hours of Thursday.

According to Guntur GRP Circle Inspector K. Ramesh Babu, the escort police in S-8 coach in Kakinada-Chennai Circar Express train noticed five bags hidden under the lower berths when the train reached Guntur.

On information, the railway police seized the abandoned contraband, weighing about 75 kgs. They are trying to find out the details of the accused with the help of reservation charts.

The Tenali railway police registered a case under Section.8 (b) r/w.20 (b) of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS) Act and investigation is on, said the CI.
