: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said he would constitute a four-member committee that would look into the steps required for conserving and propagating the Telugu language and submit its report in a month. This will be in addition to the establishment of a museum, and a heritage centre at Acharya Nagarjuna University which will have the stated objective.

Speaking at the Telugu Language Day celebrations here commemorating the birth anniversary of noted Telugu writer Gidugu Ramamurthy on Monday, Mr. Naidu said English should not be learnt at the cost of Telugu language and that the government would do its best to promote the latter at various levels. Cultural programmes would be organised every Saturday and Sunday to promote the language.

Later, Mr. Naidu and other dignitaries gave away awards to noted Telugu writers scholars who rendered yeomen’s service to the language.
