Oriental Insurance to open more business counters

Oriental Insurance Company will open additional business counters in smaller towns to spread its base, its Visakhapatnam regional chief regional manager P.S. Haranadh has said. Formally inaugurating the extension counter at Nandigama in Krishna district, on Monday, Mr. Harnadh said that the business counters would function with one or two staff members and cater to the general insurance needs of the people from smaller towns. The Oriental Insurance Vijayawada division senior divisional manager T. Balagopal and extension counter officer-in-charge N. Venkateswara Rao were present at the function. In Visakhapatnam region alone, which covers Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts, the company opened 11 business counters and plans six more in the next two months.

The new counters would come up at Amalapuram, Peddapuram, Repalle, Narasaraopet, Mangalagiri and Markapuram. The company had done a business of Rs.125 crore in the region during 2010-11 against a target of Rs.120 crore. During the 2011-12 the region had set a target of Rs. 165 crore business, he said adding that they had achieved Rs.78 crore by September 30. By opening its own portal Oriental Insurance had benefited the customers. The customers could now get access to their insurance policies through http://www.orientalinsurance.org.in, and get the latest updates about their policy and payments.
