Officials seize Rs. 2 cr. from P.B. Siddhartha Academy.

Polling officials and police conducted a raid on P.B. Siddhartha Academy at Moghalrajpuram here and seized Rs. 2 crore on Tuesday.

On a tip-off, the officials raided the administrative block and confiscated the amount. However, the college management claimed that the amount was drawn towards salaries and other expenses. The Income-Tax officials were verifying the claim, said City Police Commissioner B. Srinivasulu.

Hotel raided

In another incident, the flying squad officials conducted a raid on a private hotel in the city where YSR Congress Machilipatnam Parliamentary constituency candidate and former Minister Kolusu Parthasarathi had checked in. The officials checked the contestant’s hotel room, but could not find any cash, said Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency Returning Officer and Joint Collector J. Murali.
