Officials of the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, on Monday recorded the statements of the four Indian youths stranded in Malaysia since March-end, for clearing their immigration.

High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur Attache Labour, Anuradha Sundaramurthy, started the official process for their early repatriation. The four youths are -- P. Mohan of Srikakulam district, Nooka Raju, Soory Babu and R. Ganesh (all from Visakhapatnam district).

“We have applied for immigration clearance through the High Commission of India,” Mr. P. Mohan and Mr. Nooka Raju told The Hindu over phone. The officials were also looking into the visa issued by the Malaysia-based company and the role of India-based middlemen who were involved in sending the four youths to Malaysia. The officials promised them to provide lodging and boarding facilities until the immigration clearance was done.

Responding to an e-mail from The Hindu on May 14, officials of the High Commission of India asked the stranded youths to visit their office on May 19 for necessary support to travel back to India.
