Nissan cars like Micra, X-Trail and Teana are now available for sale and servicing in the city. Lucky Nissan, the authorised dealership of Nissan India, was inaugurated in a spacious showroom opposite Tanksala Kalyana Mandapam at Enikepadu on Thursday.
Inaugurating the dealership, which is the second one in Andhra Pradesh after Hyderabad, Nissan Motors India Private Limited MD and CEO Kiminobu Tokuyama said that Andhra Pradesh was an important market for Nissan India. There were plans to open more dealerships in the State.
He said 2010 had been an exciting year for Nissan India, as the global compact hatchback car ‘Micra' received very good response soon after it started rolling down from the new plant at Chennai. As many as 5,000 units of this first made-in-India car of Nissan had been booked till now from July 15, and 3,300 already been sold.
In growth mode
Abhijit Pandit, vice-president, marketing, Hover Automotives India Private Limited, the Indian partner of Nissan, said that the Nissan India had set for itself the goal of selling one lakh cars of different brands by 2013. Towards this end, it would be making available nine cars of various categories. The diesel version of Micra would hit the roads before Christmas this year.
