Nalanda Vidya Niketan will introduce coaching for entrance exams for Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test (ISEET) and National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) from this academic year, said college correspondent A. Vijaya Babu here on Thursday.
Speaking to the media persons, Mr. Babu said the Ministry of Human Resources has decided to do away the several entrance exams conducted by the State governments for engineering and medical courses and has introduced a common entrance exam under the supervision of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
“The new concept will discourage cramming habit among students will give scope for creativity. This will improve communication skills and would increase employment opportunities,” he added.
However, Mr. Babu said the State government will introduce ISEET and NEET from the year 2014. “The ISEET papers will be set by professors of Indian Institute of technology (IIT) and the NEET question papers will be set by CBSE and Indian Medical Association (IMA)”.
He said the question papers will be objective and there will be no negative marks.
“The question papers will be set both in English and in the respective regional languages”.
Mr. Babu said the college will give coaching in the intergraded courses, communication skills, career guidance, e-class along with practical classes in the physics, chemistry, biology and computer laboratories.
