N. Chandrababu Naidu, who long ago had made his mark in politics as one who ‘means business’, is poised to set yet another example to his counterparts in other States as a ‘high-flying Chief Minister’.
If everything goes according to the plan, Mr. Naidu will become the first Chief Minister to fly from a helipad right on top of his office building at Amaravati to the airport at Gannavaram and back without disrupting traffic on the connecting roads which are already crammed.
Among the plans for Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) in the temporary capital Velagapudi is the roof-top helipad for which a blueprint has been drawn by engineers of A.P Capital Region Development Authority (AP-CRDA).
According to CRDA officials, the Chief Minister can save time so also VVIPs, who might be accompanying him in his helicopter.
It is also considered a safe mode of transport from the security angle.
