YSRC president Y.S Jaganmohan Reddy on Thursday said that people would flay Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, if he continued to dodge on the promises he had made to farmers and women ahead of polls.
Commencing the two-day review session on the party’s poll performance, Mr. Jagan said that Mr. Naidu had reneged on each poll promise he had made, including waiver of crop and SHG loans and a job to every household in the State. He said that not even a single farmer had been issued fresh loans by banks, who themselves have been caught in quagmire owing to rising NPAs. In addition, each farmer and SHG beneficiary was now burdened with an interest rate of 13 per cent on the loan.
“If Mr. Naidu keeps on dodging on the promises he has made, there will come a time when he will be forced to flee the State,’’ Mr. Reddy said in an aggressive tone to boost the sagging morale of the party cadres. Earlier, Mr. Jagan admitted that two reasons were behind the TDP’s victory in the poll. Apart from the promise of farm loan waiver, Modi wave and a combined effort by media houses closer to the TDP had contributed significantly to the victory of Mr. Naidu.
