The training and placement cell of MVR College of Engineering and Technology, Paritala, initiated ‘Career Requirements and Felicitous Training (CRAFT)' - a unique week-long programme for the final year students of engineering, to develop the necessary skills and to keep them ahead of the competition.
This will make them ready for the forthcoming campus placements, said college principal K.V. Sambasiva Rao. Inaugurating the programme on Monday the principal said that the students will be given an extensive and thorough training in resume preparation, group discussions, technical and HR interview techniques which would help the students to enhance their technical as well soft skills.
The CRAFT programme, conducted in the previous academic year helped the students a lot and was a great success because of which 179 students of the college bagged employment in various reputed organizations like HCL Technologies, Indo Soft Int., Vision Tek., he added.
He asked the students to make use of the programme and get the technological and soft skills through which they can be in the forefront. He was confident that the programme would be a success like the previous year and can yield the best results. As part of the first day's programme, an awareness seminar was organised on the leading software company, Microsoft Technologies.
The company representative K. Naga Kumar, graced the occasion and focused on the range of products and utilities offered by Microsoft for the student community. He asked the students to participate and make use of this opportunity by getting free software from the company and to prepare themselves for the Microsoft Certification examinations.
After the awareness programme, a question and answer session with Mr. Kumar provided the students an opportunity to explore the several career openings and to get their doubts clarified. M. Madhusudana Rao, Training and Placements Officer, K. Sreedhar, HOD Computer Sciences, M. Sreenivas, HOD, Electronics and Communications and the staff and students of the college attended.
