MP launches ‘Kaushal Yojana’ programme

Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) has formally launched the Central government’s flagship programme, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) here on Friday.

Addressing a gathering, the MP said that the scheme would benefit a lot to students of 10th class, intermediate, and degree, who requires skill training in cities that were selected under the programme, he said.

Training would include soft skills, personal grooming, behavioral change for cleanliness, good work ethics. The training would be provided on the basis of standard fixed by National Scheme Qualification Framework and as per the requirement of the Industry, Mr. Srinivas said.

Quoting studies and reports on employability, Mr. Nani said that three lakh engineering graduates were coming out of colleges every year.

Domain field

However, majority of them lacked basic skills and knowledge in their domain field. Only 2 per cent the work force in the country have requisite skills and exepertise in their respective fields, he said.
