Capital Region Builders Association (CRBA) and Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU)-GERMI Energy Research Centre have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on solar rooftop installation and related training programmes.
The MoU was signed by ANU-Germi Energy Research Institute Rector K.R.S. Sambasiva Rao, Registrar P. Rajasekhar and CRBA president T. Panakala Rao here on Wednesday.
On the occasion, ANU Vice-Chancellor K. Viyyanna Rao said that the MoU was aimed at development of bilateral cooperation between the ANU-GERMI and the CRBA in the field of standardisation, certification and training in solar roof top installation.
CRBA founder chairman Gadde Rajling said that the ANU-GERMI would extend technical know-how and also training.
Though demand for solar energy equipment was increasing, there were a few technicians who can do repairs.
The MoU would bridge the gap as the CRBA proposes to impart training in installation of solar energy equipment, operation, maintenance and repairing, he said.Solar energy
Prof. Sambasiva Rao said that problems associated with over dependence on thermal and hydel power could be minimised if solar energy was encouraged.
