Mancherial man is A.P. Super Driver

Mancherial-based driver J. Settaiah has won the coveted Ashok Leyland Super Driver prize along with a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh. Ashok Leyland Managing Director Vinod Dasari gave away the prizes to winners in “Super Drive Challenge” held to promote responsible driving practices among drivers here on Saturday. The unique drive challenge, with priority for mileage was held at 40 locations in the State to determine the best commercial vehicle drivers. The contest, in which 800 drivers participated, was organised for 12 days culminating in a grand finale crowning three of them as ‘Super Drivers”. Salur's J. Siva Prasad Rao and Vijayawada's A. Hari Babu took the second and third paces and pocketed Rs.50,000 and Rs.25,000 respectively.

The first 40 drivers were given a driver kit. Automotive major Ashok Leyland will open as many as seven training schools in the country, according to Managing Director of Ashok Leyland Vinod Dasari.
