An acid-laden lorry was burnt in a fire mishap near Putrela village in Vissannapet mandal on Wednesday. The vehicle driver and cleaner had a narrow escape.
According to the villagers, the acid tanker coming from Hyderabad to Akkireddygudem village in Musunuru mandal in Krishna district suddenly caught fire. The alert driver and cleaner jumped from the vehicle and it was burnt completely even before the fire tender arrived.
The tanker was transporting sulphuric acid to an industry when the mishap occurred, the locals said.
