: Even as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is maintaining a stoic silence over the induction of his son Lokesh into the Cabinet, important Ministers jumped on the bandwagon.

All the Ministers are keen on induction of Ms. Lokesh into the Cabinet, Minister for Water Resources Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said.

Asked by the media about his view, Mr. Umamaheswara Rao said: “He should have contested in 2014 itself, but the youngster who was keen on seeing his father re-elected as the Chief Minister put aside the opportunity and worked hard for the victory of the party. I have been elected as MLA four times and have become a Minister because of his father. I whole-heartedly wish that he is inducted into the Cabinet.”

Minister for IT, Information and Public Relations Palle Raghunadha Reddy said he welcomed the induction of Mr. Lokesh into the Cabinet.

But the strongest demand came from Pithapuram MLA S.V.S.N. Varma said that he would resign from the Assembly to make place for Mr. Lokesh.

He would get Mr. Lokesh elected with a majority of one lakh votes.

Mr. Varma was elected from the constituency an Independent candidate. A loyal TDP worker, he contested on party ticket in the 2009 elections, but lost by a narrow margin to Praja Rajyam Party candidate Vanga Geeta Viswanath.

The party refused him ticket in the next elections, citing caste equations.
