Vehicles slowed down as drivers and the passengers craned their necks to take a look at it while the curious passers-by riveted their eyes on it with admiration, touching it gently.
The sparkling white Chrysler limousine was the cynosure of all eyes near Amma Kalyanamandapam on ITI Road on Monday. “I think this is the biggest car in the world. I saw this in the Hollywood movies. Everyone in our apartment can fit into it,” exclaimed a schoolboy. The other child felt that the vehicle could make for three Maruti 800s in size. “I just want to look inside and I hope the driver obliges,” said a restive youth.
Everyone who went that way stopped and tried to peer into the tinted glasses of the car to get a good look at the interior.
Raju, the driver, who looked pensive fearing the safety of the limo on the busy thoroughfare, said that the owner of the vehicle was a physician in the U.S. The new car (there was an ‘Om' mark on the bonnet with vermillion and sandal paste) would ply on the roads of Hyderabad.
“As many as 12 passengers can travel comfortably and this model is priced around Rs.6 crore, though I am not sure about the cost.”
He said that the vehicle had three television with DVD, CD, AM and FM facility with upgraded sound system. “It also has bar facilities.” Butterfly doors and sunroof ceiling are the other features of the limousine.
As word spread, the lensmen had a field day clicking the beast in various angles. “Very rarely, we see a car of this magnitude and splendour,” said a scooterist.
