September 28, 2011 02:09 pm | Updated November 17, 2021 12:42 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The City Police Commissionerate will issue licence to eligible traders to sell Deepavali fireworks products at the stalls being annually held at the Swaraj Maidan grounds for over 13 days from October 14 to 26. This is as per the direction of the High Court under the Explosives Act 1884.

The applicants should abide by some conditions: they should sell at the stalls only during the period for which licence was issued. Stalls would be allotted based on a lottery either by the Police Commissioner or some official deputed by him. The lottery would be held at the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation council hall at 11 a.m. on October 17. Each applicant should have to pay Rs. 11,320 in the form of a DD in favour of DTPC Krishna before 5 p.m. on October 1.
