Lagadapati accused of inaction

July 29, 2011 10:22 am | Updated 10:22 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

TDP urban president Vallabhaneni Vamsi Mohan and former Mayor Panchumarthy Anuradha criticised Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for what they described as lack of commitment on his part to initiate developmental activities in the interest of the people of Vijayawada and surrounding areas.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Vamsi Mohan said Mr. Rajagopal was showing more interest in his personal business development rather than creating better facilities and amenities in his capacity as MP.

The TDP leader expressed concern that the Congress MP was issuing misleading statements to people instead of drawing plans for the realistic growth and progress in both welfare and industrial categories.

Mr. Vamsi Mohan demanded that the MP release a white paper on the works and activities taken up during his previous and present terms for the development of the city so that people would have a clear understanding as to what he had really done for them. He deplored that the Congress MP had done nothing for the betterment of poor people as well.
