The police have made elaborate security arrangements for Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s visit to Gannavaram Airport, on Friday. Mr. Reddy, who is scheduled to tour in Guntur and Prakasam districts, will stay for a brief period in the airport.
Collector Buddha Prakash M. Jyothi, Police Commissioner N. Madhusudhan Reddy and other officials reviewed the arrangements for Chief Minister’s visit.
At a review meeting held on Thursday, Mr. Buddha Prakash said the Chief Minister will meet the public representatives and officials during his stay and directed the officials of all departments to attend the meeting with necessary information. The Chief Minister will arrive at 10.50 a.m. and leave for Guntur district by a helicopter. On his way back he will leave for Hyderabad by a special plane at 6.20 p.m. as per the schedule announced by the CMO.
Revenue Divisional Officers, officers of various departments attended the review meeting.
Tight security
The Guntur district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s visit to Phirangipuram in Tadikonda constituency on Friday.
He last visited for by-election campaigning in Macherla and Prathipadu almost a year ago.
Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Vara Prasada Rao had personally supervised the arrangements along with Collector S. Suresh Kumar and Joint Collector D. Muralidhar Reddy.
The officials concerned are gearing up for the public meeting which will be focusing on the implementation of SC/ST Sub-Plan and they have got due instructions from the Collector to be prepared with authentic information and their plans of action.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to reach Phirangipuram by 11.30 a.m. and proceed to Vignanapuram SC Colony for interacting with the SCs/STs living there.
He will later address a public meeting as part of the ‘Indiramma Kalalu’ programme at St. Paul’s High School grounds and dine with the communities there.
The ruling party leaders have taken upon the task of mobilising the crowds for the event as it is a prestigious scheme (the SC/ST Sub-Plan) which is expected to win over people’s goodwill in the run-up to 2014 elections.
Tight security is being arranged for the Chief Minister’s visit under the guidance of Superintendent of Police J. Satyanarayana.
A large number of policemen are being deployed at the Morning Star College grounds where the Chief Minister’s chopper will be landing and the venue of public meeting.
