Kabali teaser of Naidu goes viral

July 28, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The Kabali teaser in which matinee idol Rajinikanth has been replaced by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has gone viral. The video that has been dubbed excellently is being shared extensively on the social media, especially Whatsapp.

The teaser must have broken records what with all the channels vying with one another to telecast it.

The 50-second teaser in which Kabali explains that he is not just a petty gangster, but K-A-B-A-L-I, has been dubbed into several languages.

Using the sound track of the Telugu version of the teaser, some anonymous admirers created a video using bytes from Mr. Naidu’s Legislative Assembly speeches and at other places from the Youtube and the Internet.

The Naidu version is particularly amusing because the video editors managed to make the Chief Minister execute all the trademark gestures of the movie star. In the Naidu version, a reporter asks him why he has become a gangster.

The bad man who asks “Who is this Kabali” and commands his henchmen to bring him is predictably leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

The words “Super Star” in the teaser have been replaced with “Super CM”. The video ends with Mr. Naidu saying “manchchidhi” like in the Telugu version.
