Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is corrupt and not trustworthy, the current Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy is weak and incompetent and the future Chief Ministerial candidate Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is strong, competent and humane, Y.S.R. Congress party leader Y.S. Sharmila said here on Thursday.
Ms. Sharmila, who camped in Gymkhana Grounds on Wednesday night during her Praja Prasthanam padayatra covered important streets in Gandhinagar, Lenin Centre, Eluru Road, Chuttugunta Centre, Nimmathota , Giripuram, Stadium Water Tank Road, Veterinary Hospital bridge, Krishna Lanka and addressed a well attended public meeting at Ranigarithota.
Quoting former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, Ms. Sharmila said that Mr. Naidu was a very corrupt Chief Minister and was not trustworthy.
“Mr. Naidu was saying that the TDP was anti-Congress, but he did not extend support to the no-confidence motion introduced in the State Assembly, because he is now sold out to the Congress,” she alleged.
She said that lakhs of poor in Andhra Pradesh migrated from their villages to other places for livelihood and thousands of farmers committed suicide when Mr. Naidu was the Chief Minister. Ms. Sharmila said that Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy would not have become the Chief Minister if former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy had not made him the Speaker.
‘No gratitude’
“Unfortunately Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy did not have any gratitude for Dr. Reddy for the great favour he had done to him.
After becoming the Chief Minister by luck he is failing to deliver.
He weakened a few welfare schemes introduced by my father and buried many other schemes because of his incompetence,” Ms. Sharmila said at the public meeting.
The Congress party used the CBI to put her brother Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy in jail only because he was committed to taking out the “Odarpuyatra”, she said.
Ms. Sharmila continued the padayatra from Ranigarithota to Ramalingeswara Nagar and then settled down at a camp for the night in Patamata Lanka.
Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh, P. Gowtham Reddy, former MLA Vangaveeti Radha and other YSRCP leaders followed Ms. Sharmila.
