Intermediate examination: Over 90% appear on first day

Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) began on Wednesday with over 90 % students appearing for the exam on the first day on Wednesday. Intermediate Board officials made elaborate arrangements for the examinations which will be held up to March 19.

As many as 5.23 lakh first year students appeared for exam in Telugu, Hindi, Urdu and Sanskrit languages in 1,445 centres on the first day.

The Minister appealed to the students to be present at the examination centre half an hour before the exam (by 8.30 a.m.) every day and not to believe rumours.

Board of Intermediate Education Commissioner B. Udaya Lakshmi visited S.R.R. & C.V.R Government College and inquired about the facilities at the examination centre. Later, the Commissioner visited many other centres.

She inspected the classrooms and observed the numbering, seating, electricity and other arrangements at the centres and expressed satisfaction.

Ms. Udaya Lakshmi directed the Chief Superintendents to arrange drinking water, toilets, first aid and other facilities at the examination centres.

The flying and sitting squads, members of High Power Committee and the District Examination Committee too visited the centres.
