V. Satyanarayana, on friday was addressing a gathering at the flagging of a cycle rally organised jointly by the association and the www.friends2support.org to raise awareness about blood donation. Mr. Satyanarayana said special tracks should be created in India for cyclists to encourage them.
Youth Welfare Department Chief Executive Officer Velaga Joshi said cycling should be encouraged to improve the health of the public and reduce pollution. He also said every one should donate blood to help people who were in danger. He said people should use cycle at least for one day in a week to reduce pollution.
Reduction of pollution would have a positive impact on everybody's health and cycling would help improve the health of the individuals. Prakasham Nagar VMC High School in-charge headmaster M. Srinivasa Rao said municipal school students should try to acquire knowledge that would help them develop in all spheres of life. He said students of the school were showing great enthusiasm in participating in different programmes.
One day a weak: Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu said everyone should use the cycle at least one day in a week to reduce polluting and promote health. He said like in the past there should be a cycle in every house.
As part of the programme to promote cycling the Municipal Commissioner participated in a cycle rally that began from the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium to Benz Circle and back. Several officials and cycle enthusiasts participated in the rally.
