Employees of various banks joined a rally taken out by their counterparts on Sunday. The rally, which started at Benz Circle and reached the Police Commissioner’s office, was to protest the alleged murder of the 41-year-old woman who was the wife of a bank manager.
It has come to light that victim was brutally murdered on March 15, supposedly by a car driver Subhani and five of his accomplices. Her body, thrown into an irrigation canal, was found floating in the canal near Vaikuntapuram village of Penamaluru Mandal on March 17.
Submitting a copy of the memorandum that was given to the Governor ago, to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) M. Ravi Prakash, they demanded immediate and stringent action against the culprits through a fast track court.
Expressing unhappiness over the investigation, G. Krishnamurthi, branch manager, Saptagiri Grameena Bank, said despite the fact that the victim was killed on March 15, surprisingly police had maintained that she was safe, till her body was found.
“A link seems to be missing somewhere,” he said.
The DCP agreed that the victim was brutally done to death and said police were on the verge of cracking the case. He also assured severe action against the culprits.
The employees, who were accompanied by their family members, submitted a copy of the memorandum at the District Collector’s office also. Mylavaram MLA Devineni Umamaheshwar Rao, YSRCongress lok Sabha Candidate and Samaikyandhra student JAC Convenor Devineni Avinash also joined the rally.
