Members of APBCL, IMFL Depot Hamali Union, led by CITU, staged a dharna before the IML Depot, at Autonagar on Monday, demanding the government to solve their demands.

About 3,000 coolies are working at IML Depots in Krishna district for the last 20 years. But the managements of liquor and bars suppliers are planning to introduce tender system and remove the workers from the depots, they alleged.

They urged the A.P. Beverages Corporation to increase the labour charges for hamalis and provide job security for them.

CITU district secretary Sudhakar, IMFL Depot Workers secretary B. Madhu and hamali workers participated in the protest.
