The Agriculture Department will supply bio-fertilizers on a “no profit, no loss” basis.

Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao reviewed the production of bio-fertilizers and vermi-compost in his office in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Six units with the production capacity of 1,000 tonne of bio-fertilizers have been set up under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY). Vermi compost units have been established by Marketing Department at 26 places. The fertilizer produced in these units would be provided to farmers through the Mandal Agriculture Offices.

The officers were told that extension material should be distributed to farmers along with the bio-fertilizers by Mandal Agriculture Officers and dealers. The Marketing Department has also been asked to sell the fertilizers in rythu bazaars.
