The police on Saturday arrested two persons — Ramlakhan Singh and Pankaj Singh — of Uttar Pradesh, on the charge of looting gold ornaments weighing 5 kg from a gold ornaments making unit in the city on July 11.

The heist, which occurred on the busy road around 9.30 p.m. created panic in the city.

Special police teams were deputed to the neighbouring States and they apprehended seven members of the gang earlier and recovered 4 kg of gold ornaments.

Ramlakhan Singh alias Sagar Singh and Pankaj Singh alias Raju -- natives of Balia and Ghajipur districts respectively -- were most wanted criminals and wanted in many cases by Uttar Pradesh and other States’ police, Joint Commissioner of Police B.V. Ramana Kumar said on Saturday.
