Even as the opposition parties is raising a hue and cry over the allotment of 400 acres at Mulapadu, 25 kms from Vijayawada, to the Isha Foundation, the government appeared unperturbed.

“The land is not allotted to set up a yoga or meditation centre. Isha Foundation is setting up international education institution, leadership academy and a corporate law institute. ,” Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said.

The identified land is under forest limits and the government has appealed the Centre for denotification of the land. Once it is denotifed, a decision would be taken, he said. There is a misconception among opposition parties, but setting up such premier institutes will benefit the State a lot.

. “We will allot lands for organizations and companies, which will set up international institutions in the State only if it benefits people and students,” said Mr. Rao.
