Help at hand: The bikes to be used for the Free Drop Service for SSC students launched in Vijayawada on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police D. Gautam Sawang on Thursday flagged off a fleet of 50 scooters to drop students at the SSC examination centres free of charge.

As the exams began on Thursday, the scooters and the riders arranged by Dasarath Hero, the authorised dealer of Hero motorcycles, in association with the city police, hit the roads.

Mr. Sawang appreciated Dasarath Hero managing director Maganti Venkat for the gesture and called upon students to make use of the service.

The scooters would be available at 50 bus stops near the exam centres across the city.

The Hero Maestro scooters will sport a board saying ‘Free Drop Service’ and any 10th class student in need can approach the riders and use the service.
