Foreign delegates put forth proposals to invest in State

Show interest in infrastructure, capacity-building and tourism

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday met Baroness Varma of Leicester and a delegation from the U.K.

Ms. Varma expressed keen interest in collaborating with Andhra Pradesh in infrastructure development, solar technology, education, capacity-building and tourism.

Chairman of the Commonwealth Infrastructure Partners Geoffrey Clements proposed development of solar technology and facilitating skill upgradation and training programmes. The delegates also expressed their desire to invest in capacity-building programmes that would help strengthen the skill-sets of people in Andhra Pradesh.

Business Director at NeoXcraft Fareena Sajjad explained the opportunities in future-proof transport systems and training and updating professionals to efficiently use them. This system intends to reduce road congestion, air-borne pollutants, wear and tear of roads, improve safety and create a vastly improved transport network towards a true smart city transport solution.

Mr. Naidu assured the delegation members that he would review the proposals and further the deal. Chairman of the Kavi Holding AG, Amar Kavi, would work for a pilot project in Visakhapatnam to launch a secure ID system with censors, biometrics and GPS with a company called Fejlette.

Executive Director of the Advaith Biofules Limited Suresh Mangalagiri expressed interest in setting up a bio-diesel unit in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Visakhapatnam.
