Follow checklist, poll officials told

Municipal Commissioner and Vijayawada Lok Sabha constituency Returning Officer C. Hari Kiran inspected electronic voting machines (EVMs) at Dandamudi Rajagopala Rao Indoor Stadium here on Wednesday.

Mr. Kiran instructed the election duty staff to ensure that the ballot papers were properly attached to EVM in the presence of contestants of their representatives and that balloting and control units (of EVM) are in order. Besides, the EVM have to be correctly sealed for preventing tampering.

The staff should not miss anything given in the checklist lest they face problems on the polling day. Any doubts have to be immediately clarified from the master trainers.

Vijayawada LS constituency has seven Assembly segments including three (Vijayawada West, Central and East) in the city. Tight security was being provided to prevent any untoward incident.
