December 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 24, 2016 02:29 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Krishna Collector Babu A instructed the new Vijayawada Sub Collector G. Srujana, who took charge on Monday, to ensure that Kanaka Durga flyover casting works were commenced from Tuesday. He said handing over the casting yard space for taking up the works was top priority.

He directed Ms. Srujana to ensure that 45 acres space in which a private marble was continuing his business had to be vacated at the earliest and the same had to be handed over to the flyover contractors to take up casting works.

All the aspects pertaining to loss of space of burial grounds of different communities should be discussed with the respective community leaders, he said.

“All the works pertaining to flyover construction should be taken up on a war-footing basis,” said Mr. Babu. He said a training programme was being organised to all district collectors and joint collectors on e-POS system in the city on December 11.

Land pooling

He directed the new Nuzvid Sub Collector Lakshmi Shah to put in efforts for early completion of land pooling works. National Highways and airport development were priority works for the district administration, said a press release.
