Farmers to get compensation

December 30, 2014 01:12 am | Updated 01:12 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Information and Public Relations and IT Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy and Social Welfare Minister Ravela Kishore Babu on Monday condemned the arson by some miscreants in the villages of capital area to create disturbances and drive a wedge among farmers.

Both the Ministers and Communication Advisor Parakala Prabhakar said the State government pay compensation to farmers who had suffered losses in the incident. They said efforts were on to nab the culprits and award stern punishment to them.

Mr. Kishore Babu said it was act of frustration by political rivals of TDP who were consumed with jealousy over the support from farmers over construction of the new capital.

He alleged that the YSRC was making efforts to stall the process and wondered whether it was a political party or anti-development and anarchist organisation. Mr. Reddy said in the light of failed efforts to provoke people against capital construction in Guntur and Krishna districts, only parties like YSRC would be interested in creating panic by indulging in anti-people activities. With farmers happy over the liberal package and people welcoming new capital in the Guntur-Vijayawada-Tenali and Mangalagiri region, some were desperate to create hurdles.
