Engineering students protest in Machilipatnam

The students demanded bringing all of them under one university so that there was no confusion and that all of them should be brought under the JNTU.

The students of Daita Madhusudhana Sastry SVH College of Engineering here orgnaised a day-long dharna in front of their college protesting against the College Management changing the affiliation of their college from Acharya Nagarjuna University to Krishna University and demanded shifting them to JNTU Kakinada.

At a dharna in Machilipatnam opposing affiliation of their college to Krishna University the students said that while the 4 year students of the college were affiliated to the JNTU, the 3 and 4 Year students, who had got admitted under the Acharya Nagarjuna University, were shifted to Krishna University with Machilipatnam area coming under the new University, while the latest batch, which will come in this year will again be under the JNTU.

The students demanded bringing all of them under one university so that there was no confusion and that all of them should be brought under the JNTU. The College management represented by Daita Rambhdra Sasty and Principal Ranjith Kumar tried to pacify the students, but they refused to budge and burnt the effigy of the Principal and demanded immediate assurance given.

They stopped all the students from entering the college campus and even those who in the First Year having labs were allowed only in the afternoon.

Syllabus

The course syllabus will be that followed in ANU, but certificate given by the Krishna University, the college management said.

They wanted the students and their parents to represent to them so that they could take it to the Government, but the students were adamant on settling the issue immediately and did not like to wait even for one month.
