City based endocrinologist Kota Sunil Kumar was conferred the prestigious Dr.V.D. Nadgouda oratory award by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI) at its 42 annual conference held in Bangaluru last week.

Dr Kumar was given the award in recognition for the 44 research publications in the specialisation of “cardio-diabetology”.

Dr Sunil Kumar presented his research work in the front of over 5,000 participants. The society which consisted of over 5,500 life members is affiliated to the International Diabetes Federation.

Dr Sunil Kumar was the youngest doctor to be bestowed the award. He was also the first doctor from Andhra Pradesh to receive the prestigious honour. The society president Samar Banerjee, founder secretary Vinod Kumar and scientific council chairman Shashank Joshi jointly felicitated him on the occasion.
