The APTransco and Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (SPDCL) have made necessary arrangements at the venue for the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Minister-designate N. Chandrababu Naidu, opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) . A total of six 315 kVA and two 100 kVA transformers have already been set up at the venue.
Besides, 10 generators and some more are being put in place for the event for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 11 Chief Ministers, several Unions Ministers and hundreds of VVIPs have been invited. Power is to be supplied for lighting at the main venue and nine parking slots spread between the toll plaza at Kaza and Chinakakani, and loud speakers scattered across the nearly 70-acreground .
The power is being drawn from 132/11 KV and 132/33 KV sub-stations at Budampadu, Nambur, Tadepalli and Tadikonda, all in Guntur district, and a total of 34 officers have been deployed at all important points and they will be assisted by more than a hundred operations and maintenance staff, SPDCL Chief Engineer (Vijayawada Zone) K. Rajabapaiah said. Nearly 25,000 units of power are likely to be consumed between 6 p.m. of June 8 till 6 a.m. the next day. Scores of workmen have been deployed along the power lines laid for the purpose, to prevent breakdowns. Top officials of APTransco and SPDCL are in touch with the officers and field staff to ensure un-interrupted power supply.
