The city police arrested eight persons in connection with the Vadlamudi Mohan Krishna murder case. Patamata inspector G. Ratna Raju along with his staff made the arrest at Ramavarappadu Ring on Friday.

The arrested persons were Vallabhaneni Nagaraja Kumar, Bathula Venkataramarao, Valluripalli Srinu, Potluri Kesava Rao, Chittineni Sambasiva Rao, Vallabhaneni Nalini, Potluri Durga and Chittineni Rajani. The police also seized a bus, an SUV, five cell phones and also a jockey rod and rope, which were used in the scene of offence.

The police arrested four persons in this case on July 21. The arrested persons were accused in the murder of Mohan Krishna on the midnight of July 15 at Nidamanur flyover. A hotel worker was the first person to provide information on the body lying under the flyover and the Patamata police reached the spot where a two-wheeler was also found.

The police said that in the investigation, it was found that the deceased person had made his last call to a married woman with whom he had been moving closely in the past two years. The woman's family members had warned Mohan Krishna against continuing relationship with her. As he allegedly did not heed their warning, Nagaraja Kumar and his friends hatched the plan to eliminate him, the police said.

The police said that Nagaraja Kumar runs Greenline Travels having 20 buses, all of which were not having proper registered numbers. Two of the buses were being handed over to the RTA for taking further action.
