January 11, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:09 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

District in-charge Collector J. Murali instructed tahsildars and other authorities to complete the distribution of Chandranna Sankranti gift hampers consisting of six different items by January 12 in the district.

He directed the authorities to commence the distribution in the presence of Janmabhoomi members at the fair price shops, which received stocks pertaining to all the six items. He said two additional counters should be operated at fair price shops where there was a heavy demand, according to a press release.

Assistance of the Police Department should be taken to avoid any untoward incidents and if the assistance was not available, DWCRA groups members and NCC volunteers’ services should be used. All the stocks would be supplied to the fair price shops well in advance and packing will be completed at the shops by DWCRA members.

Special care should be taken while packing the items and distribution should be commenced by January 11 at all the shops, he added.
