The Central Warehousing Corporation Workers’ Union secretary general D.L. Chandhok on Saturday said the executive committee of the union had resolved to achieve its pending demands of time-bound promotions for the workers and implementation of compassionate appointments and transfer policy.
He was addressing a two-day executive committee meeting of the union in the city. Nearly 40-odd executive committee members from across the country participated in the first day session, hosted by the southern region of the union.
The meeting doubled up as a celebration of the union victory in the recent elections. Listing out its achievements, Mr. Chandhok said relentless efforts of the union had resulted in achievements of demands such as 40 per cent fringe benefits to the workers, implementation of the pension scheme, timely promotions and upgradation besides formation of the Benevolent Fund Committee.
The union’s Andhra Pradesh general secretary S.S.V. Prasad Narra insisted on recruitment of adequate staff. “After people left on VRS and superannuation, nearly 300 posts in the State are vacant which need to be filled,” he pointed out.
Nearly 40-odd members from across the country converged at the Southern Grand hotel in Gandhinagar to be part of the deliberations. Sunday’s session will deliberate on pension scheme.
