CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna on Saturday said that party’s national council meeting will be held here from January 8 to 10 in which several leaders would take part to prepare agenda for the party’s 23rd national mahasabha. The mahasabha would be held at Kollam from April 25 to 29.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Ramakrishna said the meeting would discuss the functioning of the Central and State governments. “CPI national secretary Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, Rajya Sabha member D. Raja and senior leaders from 29 States will take part in the discussions and attend a public meeting at Gymkhana Grounds at 4 p.m. on January 10.”
He said the agenda to be prepared in Vijayawada meeting would be sent to all the States where it would be discussed by the party functionaries.
“Issues like attacks on Dalits, Left leaders, journalists along with growing corporate culture and communalism will be thoroughly discussed.”
It was unfortunate that the Telugu Desam and BJP Members of Parliament remaining silent all these three and a half years and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi now to discuss the funds needed for the State, the CPI leader pointed out.
