The Communist Party of India (CPI) has squarely blamed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the private Bill relating to special status to Andhra Pradesh not being taken up in the Rajya Sabha. The two parties played mischief when the Bill was about to come up for discussion, said CPI national secretary K. Narayana.
Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr. Narayana said that both parties had deliberately stymied the discussion on the private Bill to hush up their failures. Unfortunately, the TDP supported the BJP’s moves in preventing the discussion, he said.
The CPI leader, referring to the killing of Dalits in Gujarat, said that the Dalits were targeted for skinning dead animals. The Sangh Parivar forces were attacking the Dalits and leaving the corporates that were reaping profits by exporting beef. The companies were making a business of Rs. 20,000 crore to Rs. 30,000 crore, but the poor Dalits were targeted, he said, adding, the CPI condemned the attacks and atrocities. CPI State secretary K. Ramakrishna and others were present.
