Cool weather greets Chief Minister

July 13, 2014 12:41 pm | Updated 12:41 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The city witnessed an Ooty-sort-of-climate right from the break of dawn on Saturday and much to the delight of the Telugu Desam leaders and party cadre, the whirlwind trip of their supremo and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ended well amidst pleasant weather. Unlike the swearing-in on June 8 which was held when the sun at his scorching best, the second trip of the Chief Minister to Vijayawada was a quite a contrast as drizzles and cool breeze greeted the VIP.

The city recorded a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius while the minimum was at 25.2. The district also witnessed a rain fall of 1.2 mm, thus considerably brining down the heat and humidity in the atmosphere.

“It is a welcome change from the unbearable hot climate. Thanks to the hospitable weather, we attended the meetings with out any displeasure,” said Rajesh, a party worker.

The roads also underwent minor repairs following the visit of the Chief Minister. Huge carters and potholes at Gurunanak Colony, RTC Colony, Eluru Road and Governorpet were given a cosmetic touch by the civic authorities with a spread of tar.
